ND Sieving Matrix

Advantages:

  • Unique buffer system that is designed specifically to increase the separation of non-denatured DNA fragments: 8bp resolution at 916 bp with 22 cm separation length in 19 min (see plot below)
  • Proprietary co-polymer with excellent long-term stability (shelf-life > 6 months at room temperature) and compatibility with our unique buffer system
  • No capillary coating required: can be used with bare, or "uncoated", capillary
  • Moderately-low viscosity (about 1000 - 2600 mPa-sec)*: Allows relatively straight-forward capillary filling on most systems.

*Viscosity varies for different applications such as short vs. long capillaries or size range.

Uses:

  • Mutation analysis, including thermal-gradient and chemical-gradient electrophoresis: the higher resolution makes it possible to discover more mutations.
  • Single-stranded conformational polymorphism.
  • Fragment size analysis of PCR product and restriction digests, avoiding the need for a "denaturing" step and offering faster separation times compared to ssDNA analysis.
